Mayor Quinton Lucas and KCMO Police Chief Stacey provided an update around 3:45 p.m. CT on the mass shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII rally. There is expected to be a follow-up press conference when more information on the situation is gathered by law enforcement. 

Here's a quick look at some of what was covered during the news conference. . .

Mayor Quinton Lucas: 600 KCPD, 250 officers from outside agencies. The celebration was marred by a shooting today. We recognize some are injured. We prayer for the safety of everyone.  

Mayor Quinton Lucas: All Chiefs players, staff, and family members are safe and accounted for.

Mayor Quinton Lucas: Everything is fluid and the details of the investigation and situation could change moving forward. 

Mayor Quinton Lucas: We received a call from the White House offering federal aid.

Chief Stacey Graves: I'm angry at what happened today. We had over 800 law enforcement officers to keep everyone safe. Because of bad actors, this tragedy occurred, even in the presence of Law Enforcement officers. 

Chief Stacey Graves: There was a foot pursuit immediately after the shooting occurred. Officers immediately rendered life-sustaining aid and called KCFD to assist.
