Two juveniles have been charged in connection with the deadly shooting that took place at the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl rally on Wednesday afternoon.

“The juveniles are currently detained in secure detention at the Juvenile Detention Center on gun related and resisting arrest charges,” Jackson County Family Court Division in Missouri said in a statement.

“It is anticipated that additional charges are expected in the future as the investigation by the Kansas City Police Department continues.”

No other information was released.

The shooting occurred just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday, when the Kansas City police reported that shots were fired around Union Station at the Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII parade.

One individual was killed and multiple others were injured, with the KC Police confirming that among the victims were children. There were a total of 22 total victims who suffered from gunshot wounds.

Lisa Lopez-Gavlan, a 43-year-old mother of two, was the individual killed in the shooting.

Following the shooting, police initially detained three juveniles, but one was released after it was determined that he was not involved in the shooting. The investigation is still open as they are searching for others who might have been involved.

As of Thursday morning, it was reported that the investigation "showed no signs of connections to terrorism or homegrown extremism" and instead what happened was a "dispute between several people that ended in gunfire".

And now charges have been brought against two juveniles who were involved. The age of the two have not been released to the public.
