2024 four-star running back Braylen Russell is one of the Tennessee Vols' top remaining recruiting targets.

Russell, 6-foot-1/230 lbs from Benton, AR, is ranked in 247 Sports' composite rankings as the No. 25 running back in the nation and the No. 4 player in the state of Arkansas.

The talented recruit will announce his commitment on July 14. Russell's top three schools are Arkansas, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Tennessee hosted Russell on his final official visit before he announces his commitment. That's usually good news for a program when it comes to landing a recruit, but it sounds like that might not be the case for the Vols.

247Sports national recruiting director Steve Wiltfong, who interviewed Russell this week, made a "crystal ball prediction" for Russell on Wednesday and he has the coveted running back committing to Arkansas.

Russell is definitely a player the Vols want to land, but if they lose out to Arkansas in this battle, it's not a red flag for Josh Heupel and his staff. There's no shame in losing a recruiting battle to an in-state school.
