San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel wants to be traded and he wants a new contract.

Eventually, Samuel will get a new contract. Whether or not it's with the 49ers, though, remains to be seen.

On Monday, San Francisco general manager John Lynch addressed Samuel and his trade request.

According to Lynch, the 49ers aren't planning to deal the talented wide receiver, despite his request to be traded.

"I can't envision a scenario where we would (move on from Samuel)," said Lynch.

If Samuel refuses to play, the 49ers won't have any choice but to trade him.

But this could be a situation where Samuel is simply using the trade request to get a lucrative extension done. It's a tactic we've seen before from professional athletes. The 49ers seem committed to keeping him in San Fran, so that seems like the likely outcome here.

That's bad news for teams like the Green Bay Packers or the Kansas City Chiefs. Both are teams that could use a No. 1 wide receiver like Samuel.

There's still plenty of offseason left and this drama with Samuel is really just heating up. But for now, it certainly feels like the 49ers will find a way to keep the former South Carolina standout on the roster.
