Tennessee Titans wide receiver AJ Brown wasn't expected to report to offseason workouts that started on Monday according to ESPN's Turron Davenport.

Brown is looking for a new contract as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. The expectation is that Tennessee will sign Brown to a lucrative extension, but as we've seen with other wide receivers this offseason (Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams), that's far from a certainty.

The former Ole Miss standout is using the slight amount of leverage he has (skipping workouts) to land a new deal.

Apparently, some fans weren't thrilled with Brown's decision (even though it's fairly common) to skip the April workouts.

On Monday afternoon, Brown responded to the criticism from fans.

"I’m a diva and a bad teammate all of sudden, lol ok. Do what you have to do then and so will I," tweeted Brown.

Brown has created plenty of headlines this offseason with his Twitter usage, though some of those headlines were sensationalized a bit. For example, when he praised former Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota as a great leader, it was interpreted by some as a shot at current starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

Right now, it would probably be in Brown's best interest to go radio silent until a new deal is reached. He wants an extension, fans want him extended and the Titans want him extended. Everyone is seemingly on the same page, which is why there's no need for tweets from Brown directed at fans or fans directing hateful tweets toward Brown.

Nothing good can come from a social media war between Brown and Titans fans. If anything, it will just sour the relationship between Brown and the city of Nashville, which is the last thing Titans fans should want.
