The Tennessee Titans (7-3) are changing the minds of some pretty important people after a dominating win on the road against the Green Bay Packers (4-7).
Coming into the season, there were plenty of doubters and naysayers claiming that the Titans would take a massive step back after trading away A.J. Brown in the offseason. Many talking heads declared the Indianapolis Colts the team to beat in the AFC South, going as far as labeling them as a Super Bowl dark horse.
Funny how things work out.
Head coach Mike Vrabel has commandeered yet another battered and bruised Titans team to the top of the division, putting Tennessee in line to host a second straight playoff game.
As the football world comes around to accept that the Titans are once again a threat, oddsmakers are getting out in front of this change in perception.
Prior to kickoff in Green Bay, BetMGM had the Titans’ Super Bowl odds listed at +3000. Following the Titans’ dismantling of Aaron Rodgers’ Packers, BetMGM moved the Titans’ odds all the way down to +2200.
Odds to win Super Bowl LVII:
Bills +400
Chiefs +450
Eagles +600
49ers +800
Vikings +1100
Ravens +1200
Cowboys +1400
Dolphins +1600
Buccaneers +1600
Titans +2200
Bengals +3000
Chargers +4000
There are certainly teams above the Titans that have yet to prove they belong. That being said, oddsmakers are forced to water down the odds of teams like Tampa Bay, Dallas, Baltimore, and Miami due to the amount of bets people place on popular names/teams.
There is still plenty of time for Titans bettors to get in on the action. Tennessee’s odds to win the AFC are down to +1200 trailing the Bills (+200), Chiefs (+230), Ravens (+650), and Dolphins (+900).
Somehow, Vrabel’s Titans always find themselves in the mix come January, and this season is no different. The question remains just how far Ryan Tannehill can take this team in the postseason.
We’ll find out soon enough.
