Byron Young lands with former Vols teammate in latest NFL mock draft
Former Tennessee Vols pass rusher Byron Young lands with a former UT teammate in the latest NFL mock draft
Former Tennessee Vols pass rusher Byron Young is one of the more underrated players in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Young, a former Dollar General assistant manager who transferred to Tennessee from Georgia Military College, tested exceptionally well at the NFL Draft combine earlier this month.
The former Vol is expected to be a day two selection in next month's draft thanks in part to his performance at the combine and the Senior Bowl.
The latest mock draft from Pro Football Network has Young slipping to the third round. They have the Carolina Panthers selecting Young with the No. 93 overall pick.
If Young lands in Carolina, he'll join his former Vols teammate Cade Mays, an offensive lineman who was selected by the Panthers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Former Tennessee defensive lineman Shy Tuttle is also on Carolina's roster, recently signing a three-year deal with the Panthers.
Young finished his career at Tennessee with 12.5 sacks and one interception. He totaled 7.0 sacks and 12.0 tackles for loss as a senior in 2022.
