Colin Cowherd, the host of "The "Herd" on Fox Sports, revealed his list of the best eight coaches in the NFL this week.

Typically, Cowherd is a hot take machine that's tossed some real doozies out there (remember when he said the Cincinnati Bengals shouldn't draft the "limited" Joe Burrow).

But his list of the best eight coaches in the NFL is actually spot on.

Here's who is on Cowherd's list:

  • Bill Belichick — New England Patriots
  • John Harbaugh — Baltimore Ravens
  • Sean McDermott — Buffalo Bills
  • Sean McVay — Los Angeles Rams
  • Andy Reid — Kansas City Chiefs
  • Kyle Shanahan — San Francisco 49ers
  • Mike Tomlin — Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Mike Vrabel — Tennessee Titans

It's hard to disagree with any of his selections. He has a nice mix of young coaches and veterans.

Belichick is obviously the GOAT. Reid might be second in line to the GOAT title (at least when it comes to active coaches) And then Harbaugh and Tomlin, for the most part, have put playoff-worthy teams on the field every single year for well over a decade. They've also each won Super Bowl rings.

The other four coaches all came on the scene in recent years and have led their teams to a significant amount of success. McVay just won a Super Bowl. Shanahan has reached a Super Bowl. McDermott had led the Bills to two straight AFC East division titles over Belichick and the Patriots. And Vrabel has led the Titans to four straight winning seasons and two straight AFC South division titles (and an AFC Championship game appearance two years ago).

Vrabel was also just named the NFL AP coach of the year.

Cowherd doesn't often get it right. But he nailed it with this list.
