Last week, we learned that the Clemson Tigers will be breaking out a new offense in 2023.

After losing by 17 points to the Tennessee Vols in Orange Bowl, Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney fired offensive coordinator Brandon Streeter and replaced him with Garrett Riley, the younger brother of USC head coach Lincoln Riley.

The younger Riley previously served as the offensive coordinator at TCU.

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik recently revealed that the Tigers' offense will resemble Tennessee's offense under Riley.

"You look at what Tennessee could do (last season) and everybody talked about how fast they played, I think that's going to be a lot similar to what we're going to be doing this next year," said Klubnik last week.

According to Klubnik, Clemson's playbook went from featuring 80 plays under Streeter to around 30 plays under Riley.

Klubnik told reporters that Riley told the team that he doesn't care if teams know what play the Tigers are going to run, Clemson is still going to "beat them at it".

That's a confident statement from Riley (via Klubnik). And I'm sure every team that Clemson plays in 2023 will mention that statement before playing the Tigers this upcoming season.

Giving opponents free bulletin board material usually isn't a wise idea. But that's exactly what Klubnik and Riley have done this spring.

It's certainly a bold decision.

Clemson opens the season against Duke on September 4. They get their first real test on September 23 when they take on Florida State. I would imagine the Seminoles will be thinking about this quote a lot this offseason as they gear up for a tough battle in the ACC Atlantic in 2023.
