The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) handed the Colts (0-1-1) an ass-whooping of epic proportion in Week 2, winning by the score of 24-0.

Sunday’s win marked the first Jags shutout since Week 13 of the 2018 season, which also came against the Colts.

Indianapolis has now dropped eight straight games on the road against the Jags, and haven’t left Jacksonville with a win since 2014.

This is the same Colts team that the national media annually fawns over before a single game is played. Everybody and their mother picked the Colts to win the AFC South.

Head coach Frank Reich and general manager Chris Ballard have drastically underachieved during their time in Indianapolis. But, that didn’t stop anyone from naming the Colts as a dark horse contender in the AFC.

The Indianapolis media is always over-infatuated with the Colts, no matter how many deficiencies the roster might have. Perhaps they led national analysts to believe the team would be better than it is, or has been.

Running back Jonathan Taylor is everybody’s choice to supplant Derrick Henry for the best back in the NFL. He finished Sunday’s loss with 54 yards on nine carries, but was bottled up for most of the day outside of his 21-yard rush when the game was out of hand.

For as much pain as Carson Wentz caused last season, Matt Ryan hasn’t looked much better through his first two weeks. Ryan’s three interceptions against the Jags move his total up to four on the season compared to just one touchdown pass.

It’s the same old Colts that those who actually pay attention to the AFC South have come to know since Andrew Luck left in 2018. It’s the same franchise that hasn’t sat atop the AFC South throne since 2014.

No matter how badly the Colts burn those who believe in them, every talking head falls right back in love with them as soon as the following offseason begins.

A leopard can’t change its spots, just like the Colts can’t change the fact that they are everybody’s favorite pretender. It’s time for the national media to start doing their homework.
