Country music superstar Darius Rucker took the stage in Columbia, SC on Sunday night and proceeded to hurl a major insult at the state of Tennessee.

Rucker, a Charleston, SC native who attended the University of South Carolina, is a massive Gamecocks fan who doesn't seem to have a problem throwing shade at the state where he primarily makes his living now.

The long-time Hootie and the Blowfish frontman loudly proclaimed "F— Tennessee" during his performance.

Here's the NSFW video.

The crowd, which was largely comprised of South Carolina students, also got in on disparaging the state of Tennessee (presumably at the behest of Rucker).

Rucker's career has had a renaissance over the last decade thanks to country music and the state of Tennessee. Throwing shade at Tennessee and its residents probably isn't a wise idea.

Tennessee fans/residents/natives have long memories. I can't imagine what kind of reception Rucker will get the next time he plays a show in the Volunteer State. But I'm willing to bet he'll regret throwing shade at Tennessee on Sunday night.
