The Tennessee Vols are one of the teams in the mix to land 2024 five-star running back Jerrick Gibson.

Gibson, 5-foot-10/200 lbs, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 1 running back in the nation and the No. 6 player in the state of Florida. He's also rated as the No. 22 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

The talented running back recently spoke to On3 about his recruitment and he explained what he loves about Tennesee.

"I just love the fan base," said Gibson. "When I went up there, it was one of the most electric games I’ve ever been around. The love from the students, the knowledge from the business, and educational part about it stood out about it to me, too. They invest in their players.”

The Vols will have some stiff competition for Gibson. Alabama, Texas, and Georgia are also in the mix for the stud running back.

If Tennessee wants to have a serious shot at landing Gibson, they'll need to continue winning in 2023 — that's going to be a massive factor in his decision.

“I just have to see a good future for me, a good environment for me to succeed,” explained Gibson to On3. “The people I have around me, we’re all on the same page of winning a national championship…I don’t want to go anywhere I’m not winning. For the next three to four years, I’m trying to go in and win, write history with my teammates.”

Gibson expects to commit in the middle of his senior season.
