This past weekend, Miami Dolphins beat writer Omar Kelly predicted that the Tennessee Titans will land tight end Mike Gesicki in free agency this offseason (or via a sign and trade deal).

Gesicki is a talented player who could make a big impact in the Titans' passing game. But his deficiencies as a blocker make him a questionable fit in Tennessee's offense.

There's another free agent tight end, however, that could be a better fit for the Titans.

On Monday, Titans Radio's Rhett Bryan joined 104.5 The Zone to talk about what the Titans should do this offseason. And he brought up Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku as a possibility in free agency.

"Tight end is a place [where] I know the Titans are going to be looking," said Bryan. "I really feel like the missing element from the Titans' offense is missing Jonnu Smith."

"I don't think this guy was ever used right in his four years as a Cleveland Brown and that's David Njoku. I loved this kid coming out of Miami. And he was young. He was 20 years old when he was drafted. We're talking about a guy, he's Jonnu's size….the measurables are there I just don't think he was ever used correctly (in Cleveland)."

Bryan mentioned that he'd like to see the Titans sign Njoku, who will turn 26 this summer, to a one-year prove-it deal.

Njoku is a better fit for the Titans than Gesicki. The former Hurricanes standout is a threat in the passing game, but he's also a solid run blocker (he's improved throughout his career as a blocker). That's obviously important with running back Derrick Henry still operating as the centerpiece of the Titans' offense.

The only problem with Bryan's suggestion is that I don't see a one-year deal happening for Njoku. If the Titans want to sign him, they'll likely have to offer him a three-year deal (somewhere in the three year for $37 million neighborhood).

That's because Njoku said recently that he'd like to finish his career in Cleveland. And his agent is already working on making that happen.

"I love it here to the core," said Njoku earlier this offseason (via The Athletic). "I honestly want to be here for the rest of my career. My agent and the Browns are still in talks, and we are still negotiating and figuring out what we can do."

Njoku would be a solid addition to the Titans — and he makes more sense, schematically, than Gesicki — but adding him won't come cheap. Tennessee will likely have to outbid Cleveland for Njoku if they want to bring him to Nashville.
