Former Georgia Bulldogs standout (and current ESPN analyst) David Pollack made a huge prediction on Saturday for Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks.
Pollack thinks Burks, the Titans' first round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft, will be the NFL offensive rookie of the year in 2022.
That's a bold prediction, considering several wide receivers were selected ahead of Burks. And a couple of the wide receivers selected after Burks landed in situations with better quarterbacks.
Burks, however, could be the most gifted wide receiver in the draft. He's a 6-foot-2 wide receiver who can line up anywhere on the field as a wide receiver. Burks can make contested catches and he's great after the catch.
The only concern about Burks is his rawness as a wide receiver. He needs to perfect his route running skills if he's going to be a Pro-Bowl caliber wide receiver in the NFL.
Burks will have plenty of opportunities to prove Pollack correct, though. The former Arkansas wide receiver should step right into the Titans' starting lineup, thanks to the departures of wide receivers Julio Jones (released) and AJ Brown (trade to the Philadelphia Eagles).
By the way, Burks had a massive game against Alabama this past season, catching 8 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns against the Crimson Tide. If Burks can do that against one of the toughest teams in the nation, he should be able to adjust to life in the NFL.
