It appears that Josh Dobbs' time as the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback has come to an end.

Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said on Monday that either Kyler Murray, who still hasn't been activated from IR yet, or rookie Clayton Tune will start this weekend against the Cleveland Browns.

Dobbs, who made his first two career NFL starts last season for the Tennessee Titans, started the first eight games of the season for Arizona.

The Cardinals went 1-7 in those eight games with their only win coming in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys.

While the record hasn't been great for Arizona, Dobbs has played pretty well. He's completed over 60 percent of his passes for 1,569 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions. He's also rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns.

Over a 17 game season, those numbers would extrapolate to 3,334 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, 548 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. Those might not be Pro Bowl caliber numbers, but accounting for almost 4,000 total yards in a season would be a solid year.

Something else to note is that Arizona's had a fairly difficult schedule so far this season. They've played tough teams in the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Baltimore Ravens in recent weeks.

Dobbs showed enough during his starting stint with the Cardinals that he should have no problem finding work in the NFL as at least a primary backup moving forward.
