A recent mock draft from The Athletic has the Tennessee Titans landing a former Tennessee Vols standout in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The Athletic has the Titans taking Vols defensive back Alontae Taylor in the fifth round.

From The Athletic:

Taylor helped himself at the Senior Bowl and at the combine (4.36 in the 40) after an up-and-down career for a more down-than-up program during his time in Knoxville. The 6-0, 195-pound Taylor has good length and the right demeanor, and there’s no question he’s been tested by the competition.

Taylor would bring some nice versatility to the Titans' defense — he's expected to play safety in the NFL, but he played cornerback at Tennessee.

The Manchester, TN native, who started his career with the Vols as a wide receiver, ran a 4.36 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL scouting combine. That's elite speed that definitely translates to the NFL.

Taylor would certainly be a great addition for the Titans, but I'm not sure he'll fall to the fifth round. I wouldn't be surprised to see the former Vol go in the fourth round or maybe even the third round.
