Former Tennessee Titans linebacker Rashaan Evans, the No. 22 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, is looking for a new home this offseason.

The Titans declined Evans' fifth-year option before the 2021 season, which signaled that Tennessee wouldn't be bringing the former Alabama linebacker back to Nashville in 2022.

Evans' best season came in 2019 when he totaled 111 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

This past season, Evans missed five games while battling injuries. He finished the year with 57 tackles, his lowest total since his rookie season in 2018.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday morning that Evans is set to visit the Atlanta Falcons at some point on Tuesday.

This makes a lot of sense. Evans has several notable connections to the Falcons.

Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith was with Evans for three seasons in Tennessee.

Falcons defensive coordinator Dean Pees was Evans' defensive coordinator in 2018 and 2019 with the Titans (Matt Pees, Dean Pees' son, is a defensive assistant with the Falcons and was also with the Titans in 2018-19).

Another connection is former Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was recently signed by Atlanta to replace Matt Ryan as the franchise's starting quarterback in 2022. Mariota and Evans were teammates for two seasons in Nashville.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the landing spot for Evans. He didn't get signed during the first wave of free agency, which means his market could be limited to NFL teams where he has some connections. The Falcons seem like the most logical destination for the former Titan.
