Former Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher was trending on Saturday morning and it wasn't for good reasons.

Fisher is currently the head coach of the USFL's Michigan Panthers.

On Friday evening, the Panthers took on the Philadelphia Stars.

And Fisher worked his "magic" in the game's final moments.

The Panthers were down by one with 28 seconds to go in the fourth quarter.

Michigan had the ball on the two-yard line with two timeouts left. Instead of trying to get the ball into the end zone, Fisher decided to run out the clock and attempt a game-winning 21-yard field goal.

Solid strategy, right?

Not exactly.

The kick bounced off the upright and the Panthers lost.

You have to go for the touchdown in that situation. With two timeouts left, just run the ball a couple of times, then kick the field goal if those attempts fail.

What makes this even worse is that it's not like Fisher was trusting a great kicker. The Panthers' kicker, Michael Carrizosa, is also their punter.

Carrizosa, in fact, only had a couple of field goal attempts during his career at San Jose State. And according to his SJSU bio, he missed a 21-yard field goal attempt as a true freshman in 2015.

I guess it's pretty easy to see why Fisher, who has practically been begging for a coaching job in the NFL/college football for the last several years, is coaching in the USFL and hasn't landed a more prominent coaching job.
