With the NFL’s trade deadline set for November 1, the Tennessee Titans have less than two weeks to address major points of weakness on its roster.

Injuries have contributed to a handful of positional deficiencies, but, as it currently stands, the team’s biggest holes are at wide receiver and left tackle.

In order to solve these problems that have been plaguing the Titans through their first five games of the season, general manager Jon Robinson needs to check in on four players currently involved in trade rumors.

WR D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers

There is a fire sale going on in Carolina as the Panthers begin their descension to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Carolina has traded WR Robbie Anderson and RB Christian McCaffrey with the possibility of Moore being next out of the door.

The Titans desperately need another playmaker on the outside and despite shaky numbers, mostly due to poor quarterback play, Moore fits the bill. The 25-year-old wideout has put together three straight seasons with over 1,100 receiving yards.

Moore’s contract won’t hurt Tennessee this year, but he stands to account for $25 million against the cap in 2023 with a $20.9 million hit in each of the following two years, per Spotrac.

WR Elijah Moore – New York Jets

Moore made his intentions known this week by officially requesting a trade from the Jets. The former Ole Miss Rebel was highly touted coming out of college, but his production at the NFL level has yet to catch up.

Moore recorded 43 receptions for 538 receiving yards and five touchdowns in just 11 games during his rookie season. He’s ran into a sophomore slump this year, hauling in just 16 catches for 203 yards in six games.

He also has experience returning punts from his time at Ole Miss, which is an area the Titans need help in. Still under his rookie contract, Moore comes cheap with a cap hit below $3 million through the 2024 season.

WR Jerry Jeudy – Denver Broncos

Jeudy was visibly frustrated with the Broncos’ offensive struggles in Denver’s overtime loss to the Chargers on Monday night. If Russell Wilson and the Broncos’ offense can’t right the ship in the next two weeks it wouldn’t be surprising to see him vocalize a move.

Playing in his third year on a rookie contract, Jeudy could bring an element of speed to a Titans offense that is in desperate need of a deep threat.

OT Isaiah Wynn – New England Patriots

The Titans’ pipeline with New England is well-documented, which makes this an easy conversation for Robinson to have with the franchise that formerly employed him.

Wynn was drafted by the Patriots with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2018 draft. He was drafted as a left tackle, but has been struggling this season ever since the Patriots transitioned him to right tackle.

Wynn’s struggles on the right side led to his benching in New England’s win over the Cleveland Browns last week.

With Taylor Lewan done for the year and backup Denis Daley struggling to fill the void, it’s worth asking to see if the Patriots are willing to move Wynn, who is playing on the last year of his rookie contract.

Robinson hasn’t shied away from making moves at the deadline since his hire in 2016, but it might take a deadline deal in order for this Titans team to seriously contend in the postseason.
