Almost every Tennessee Vols' fan knows that Hendon Hooker attended Virginia Tech before transferring to Knoxville.

Less folks may know the connection that wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has with Virginia Tech. Hyatt originally committed to the Hokies.

Of course, that commitment didn't stick as he landed with the Vols.

The Tennessee wideout committed to Virginia Tech in early 2019. During the summer of 2019, Hyatt recommitted from the Hokies.

Less than a month later, he committed to the Vols.

Fast forward to 2022. Hyatt is one of the best receivers in the entire country.

He is a massive reason that the Vols just beat Alabama. His five touchdowns and 207 yards on six catches were an absolute marvel.

The downfall of Virginia Tech has effectively propelled the Vols to be a top 5 team right now.

The Vols are legitimate college football playoff contender with Hooker and Hyatt, so Tennessee fans should also be Virginia Tech fans.

Not to mention, Virginia Tech is 2-5 so far this season.

Grant Wells, their starting QB, has struggled for most of the year. Their top receiver has just two receiving touchdowns.

Hyatt had over twice that in just one game for the Vols against Alabama.

Going forward, the duo of Hooker and Hyatt will be one of the biggest reasons that the Vols will be one of the best offenses in the country for the rest of the year.
