New Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Joey Halzle has some big shoes to fill in 2023.

Halzle is taking over for Alex Golesh, who left Tennessee this offseason to become the new head coach at USF.

Golesh was instrumental in leading the Vols to the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation in 2023.

Despite the change at offensive coordinator, the expectations at Tennessee won't be changing.

And that's something that Halzle, who also coaches quarterbacks, welcome.

"The expectation for this offense, overall, is to be the best offense in the country," said Halzle recently on The Juice. "That standard never changes. That's what it's been. That's what it's going to be."

Scoring more points than any other program in the nation is now the expectation at Tennessee. If the Vols finish as the No. 2 scoring offense in the nation, it would still be an incredible feat for Tennessee's players and coaches. But it would be a letdown inside the facility because it would be falling short of the expectations at UT.

Halzle, despite entering his first season as an offensive coordinator, isn't shying away from those expectations. In fact, he's embracing them. And that's certainly good news for the Vols.
