If you watched the LSU Tigers' win against the Tennessee Vols on Saturday, you might have noticed early in the game that LSU outfielder Josh Pearson was struggling a little with fly balls because of the sun.

ESPN's announcers, as well as users on social media, quickly pointed out that Pearson had sunglasses on his hat that he wasn't using.

It was a perplexing scene.

Pearson explained that there was a reason why he didn't use the sunglasses (and it wasn't because he forgot they were there).

"The shadows make it harder so if I have my sunglasses on I won't be able to see the ball," said Pearson, who also noted that he had numerous screen shots sent to him after the game.

Tennessee's game against LSU started at 6:00 PM CT which can be a tough start time for a baseball game thanks to the mix of sun and shadows that slowly cover the field until the sun sets.

But it wasn't too big of an issue for either team as neither program committed an outfield error.
