That's a theme for the Titans. Their defensive line and linebackers grind through every matchup and come up when the team needs them. Many of their players upfront aren't big names among the national media.
The Titans don't care, though.
They just keep performing, and linebacker David Long Jr. may be the best player of that unsung group of talent.
Titans' fans know how well Long Jr. has played over the last couple of seasons when healthy. His athleticism and instincts are among the best in the NFL at linebacker.
He shows up in the pass game with some solid coverage. Long Jr. also consistent stuffs running plays alongside his teammates on the defensive line.
You can't watch a Titans' game without seeing Long Jr. and Jeffery Simmons make a big play in the backfield.
Long Jr. drew a really impressive comparison last week from Benjamin Solak.
Fred Warner is the best linebacker in the NFL right now, probably. He's a ridiculously dynamic athlete and the leader of his defense in San Fran.
The 49ers' linebacker is extremely impressive, so the comparison is an awesome one.
Long Jr. does seem to play a bigger role in the leadership for the Titans' defense, too. Fans will be happy to see that a national media analyst is giving Long Jr. the praise that he deserves.
