Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has been a fan favorite for most of his time in Tennessee. It's for good reason as the franchise has seen arguably its most consistent success with him at the helm. National media notices that when a team shows that it can be a contender annually. Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus joined Buck Reising and 104.5 the Zone to discuss Vrabel in comparison to Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin as well as some other topics around the Titans.

Sikkema discusses how Vrabel has seemingly earned a lot of trust within the league and the fan base. He is a very respected head coach for how he leads the Titans year-in and year-out.

"You might just have to believe in this guy no matter what the roster looks like, no matter what the outlook is, if they lost more players than they added…"

He mentions the win totals for the Titans under Vrabel – 9,9,11, and 12. That is the definition of consistent in a league where not many franchises do that on a yearly basis. His point about losses on the roster is interesting, too. The defense for the Titans was looked at as the biggest question mark entering last season. It was their best unit. They got a lot of impressive play from young players, and a lot of that credit can go to Vrabel. He and the staff have shown that they can develop young talent like Harold Landry III, Amani Hooker, Kristian Fulton, Jeffery Simmons, among others.

Sikkema mentions the secondary in particular as well. He has a lot of confidence in their depth at those positions, and many Titans fans share that sentiment. Kevin Byard seems to be back to his All-Pro level of play. Roger McCreary is an exciting addition to the CB room. Caleb Farley and Elijah Molden both have the talent to come along in a big way this season.

Mike Vrabel has accomplished more than any other Titans coach in their first four seasons, and people are noticing. Getting compared to a future Hall of Fame HC like Tomlin is no light achievement.
