Tennessee Titans wide receiver AJ Brown is entering the final season of his rookie deal and he's looking for a contract extension.
Brown is hoping to take advantage of the exploding wide receiver market that has seen several wide receivers receive substantial paydays this offseason (Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, and Christian Kirk, for example).
The former Ole Miss standout didn't report to Tennessee's voluntary offseason workouts this week, which has created a bit of drama for Brown.
There really shouldn't be any drama around Brown, though. He's just using the tools at his disposal as he works to get a new contract done. The Titans want Brown in Nashville long-term. The only way a deal doesn't get done is if Brown becomes disgruntled and wants out of Tennessee. I don't see that happening, thanks to the culture that general manager Jon Robinson and head coach Mike Vrabel have built.

An anonymous NFL executive who recently spoke to Pro Football Network's Aaron Wilson agrees.
“I believe the Titans are absolutely going to pay AJ," said the anonymous executive. "Jon Robinson takes care of his guys, look at his track record. AJ deserves a good deal. It’s just a matter of time before it happens."
That comment lines up with what ESPN's Dianna Russini said this week during an appearance on The Buck Reising Show on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville.
“From what I can gather, from conversations I’ve had with sources, both sides are working towards a deal,” said Russini. “They’re trying to extend him. They’re trying to keep him in Tennessee for a really long time."
I'd be shocked if this deal doesn't get done. The Titans have been incredibly successful at retaining talent under Robinson and this front office.
The rest of the NFL seems to agree that Brown is going to be in Nashville for years to come.
There's nothing to worry about if you're a Titans fan.
