Tennessee Vols guard Santiago Vescovi, a rising senior, declared for the 2022 NBA Draft late last month.

Vescovi will maintain his college eligibility as he goes through the draft process.

On Thursday, Vols head coach Rick Barnes met with reporters and he addressed Vescovi's decision to enter the NBA draft.

Barnes called entering the NBA draft a "test run" for Vescovi. He also said that he encourages his players to take part in the draft process.

This essentially confirms what we already assumed — Vescovi is just gathering information with no real intention of leaving Tennessee.

Now, I'm sure if he gets told he's going to be a lottery pick then his mind would change and he'd likely leave Rocky Top. But that almost certainly won't be the case.

Unless something completely crazy happens, Vescovi will be back in Knoxville next season as the Vols once again attempt to make a Final Four run.
