Believe it or not, the Tennessee Vols will be taking the field in Nashville for the 2023 season opener in less than two months.
Before that game on September 2 against Virginia at Nissan Stadium, the Vols and the rest of the SEC will be in Nashville for SEC Media Days.
The annual event, which marks the unofficial start of the new season, will take place from July 17 to July 20 at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Nashville.
Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and three Vols players will take the podium on Thursday July 20.
On Monday, Tennessee announced which three players will be joining Heupel in Nashville.
Redshirt senior quarterback Joe Milton, senior defensive lineman Omari Thomas, and redshirt senior tight end Jacob Warren will be the players representing the Vols in Nashville next week.
Milton was a given. And Thomas was a high possibility as well since he's a veteran leader on the defensive side of the ball.
Warren isn't a total surprise, though that third spot was a little more "up for grabs" with senior offensive lineman Cooper Mays and senior wide receiver Ramel Keyton also having strong cases to go to Nashville. Warren, who is from Knoxville, is one of the few players on Tennessee's roster that was recruited by former Vols head coach Butch Jones. As a result, Warren has a unique persecutive on all of the changes that Tennessee's football program has experienced over the last six years.
