The Tennessee Titans will enter the 2022 season in a similar position as the Dallas Cowboys — the expectation is to reach the Super Bowl.

Tennessee has a Super Bowl-caliber roster. Their Super Bowl window is wide open. All they need to do is execute (and stay healthy).

It basically all comes down to quarterback Ryan Tannehill. He had a poor game in the Titans' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the divisional round of the playoffs. But he also helped Tennessee overcome an inordinate amount of injuries during the 2021 season and claim the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

The Titans have no choice but to stick with Tannehill in 2022 (he has a $57 million dead cap hit). I don't think anyone is under the impression that Tannehill is an elite-level quarterback. But we've seen non-elite level quarterbacks win Super Bowls before (though the list is short, Nick Foles and Joe Flacco most recently). Tannehill isn't going to be the reason the Titans win a Super Bowl. But if he plays well, he can be the reason they don't lose the Super Bowl.

With the Titans being a legitimate Super Bowl contender in 2022, I think it means we'll see them in Prime Time games more than once. And I think they'll be featured on Sunday Night Football — the premier NFL game of the week — at least once.

Here are the five most likely games that could be featured on Sunday night.

Tennessee Titans

Tennessee Titans vs Cincinnati Bengals

A few years ago, this game would've been viewed as the least desirable game of the week. But that's before general manager Jon Robinson built the Titans into a perennial winner. And before the Bengals drafted future superstar Joe Burrow. Now it could be one of the biggest games of the week. This game could also be a candidate to be on ESPN's Monday Night football. It would certainly be fun to hear Peyton and Eli Manning talk about the Titans and Burrow during the Manningcast.

Tennessee Titans @ Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers is always a prime-time draw. And since he's reportedly building a home in Nashville — and I imagine the Rodgers to Titans rumors will persist throughout the offseason — this could be an intriguing game thanks to on-field implications and off-field rumors.

(By the way, I obviously think Rodgers will return to Green Bay for the 2022 season.)

Tennessee Titans vs Dallas Cowboys

I mentioned it earlier — the Titans and Cowboys are in very similar positions in 2022. Simply making the playoffs isn't enough for either team. Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, however, is under more pressure than Titans head coach Mike Vrabel, who was just named the NFL AP coach of the year. The Cowboys, like Aaron Rodgers, are always a candidate to be on Sunday Night Football, so I'm sure this game will be high on NBC's priority list.

Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs

The two best teams in the AFC — record-wise — from 2021. What's not to love about this game. Patrick Mahomes is a superstar and Arrowhead Stadium is one of the best venues in professional sports. This is the Titans game that I think is most likely to be featured on Sunday Night Football in 2022. The Titans won the last matchup between these two teams — a 27-3 win in Nissan Stadium this past season. The Chiefs, however, won the last playoff matchup between these two teams — a 35-24 win in the AFC Championship game in early 2020. That's a loss that still stings in Nashville.

Tennessee Titans @ Buffalo Bills

Bills quarterback Josh Allen is one of the most exciting young players in the NFL right now. And the Bills are suddenly one of the best teams in the AFC. I think we're going to see plenty of Bills Mafia in 2022 in primetime. But of the games on this list, I think this would be the lowest on the priority list for Sunday Night Football. In fact, I think this game seems destined for Thursday Night Football (which would be a lot of fun). Still, there's at least an outside chance it lands on Sunday Night football in 2022.
