The tight end position has been one of concern since last off-season for the Tennessee Titans. They decided to address it with former Cleveland Browns TE Austin Hooper. The TE position plays a key cog in the offense for the Titans. You can expect him to be involved plenty in both the running and passing game. Could Hooper have some value in fantasy football, too?

In an article by Justin Boone from theScore, he mentions the new Titans TE as a potential "sleeper" at his position. By that name, he thinks that Hooper may not be getting the recognition he deserves in the fantasy football community. Boone thinks that he could be more productive than many expect this year for the Titans.

It certainly makes sense as well. Titans QB Ryan Tannehill has always built good relationships with his tight ends and used them in the passing game pretty often. Additionally, Hooper is the sole veteran presence at the TE position with much of any receiving production. Rookie tight end Chig Okwonkwo has been exciting throughout camp, but he is also a different type of TE from Hooper. Hooper provides a bit more as a blocker as of right now, so he can be on the field more often.

Not to mention, A.J. Brown is no longer in Tennessee. That's a big chunk of targets that just opened up for the rest of the offense for the Titans. Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, and others will get many of those, but Hooper will get plenty of looks.

Hooper will be an important piece to the offense if it is running on all cylinders. We know Derrick Henry will handle the load on the ground, but being multiple and unique through the air can take the offense to another level in 2022.
