The Tennessee Vols are the cream of the crop in college baseball entering postseason play in 2022. They had a pitcher win SEC Pitcher of the Year in Chase Dollander. Drew Beam took home SEC Freshman of the Year. Trey Lipscomb was in the running for SEC Player of the Year and had the numbers to win it. Tennessee ran away with the regular season title and the top spot in the national rankings in the regular season.

They achieved something that they hadn't since before the turn of the century, though. The Vols had five players selected to All-SEC teams. Chase Dollander and Trey Lipscomb were first-team All-SEC. Drew Beam and Chase Burns were both second-team selections, and Drew Gilbert was a first-team defense selection. Accordingly, their entire weekend rotation for most conference weekends got All-SEC honors.

Tony Vitello also won SEC Coach of the Year.

It's been a special season for the Vols, but there is plenty of work left to be done. As easily the most dominant team in the regular season, no team has a bigger target on their back than the Vols. That hasn't been a problem for them yet, though. They'll look to keep their success flowing in the conference tournament this week, but the biggest prize remains the national championship.
