Tennessee Vols catcher Evan Russell was a fan favorite throughout his time as a Volunteer. He owned the all-time team record for career home runs shortly, too. Russell hit his 39th HR this past weekend to set the record, but first baseman Luc Lipcius broke that record later in the weekend with his 40th. Russell came in this season and caught the best pitching staff in the country throughout the regular season. The catcher had big shoes to fill for the Vols after Connor Pavolony graduated. The young man did that and more.

Many players may go sulk or release their frustration after such a deflating loss like the Vols took on Sunday against Notre Dame. Russell did not. Instead, he used that time to make a little baseball player's day.

The Vols catcher not only gave the kid a fun time, but he also taught him how to take a hardship and push past it. That little player will always remember the time that one of the best players in Vols baseball history took time after a defeat to play some ball with him.
