Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Shy Tuttle received a new contract with the New Orleans Saints this week.

Tuttle, who was a restricted free agent entering this offseason (meaning New Orleans would've been able to match any offer made to Tuttle), received a one-year deal worth $2.4 million from the Saints.

Tuttle, a Winston-Salem, NC native, has played three seasons with New Orleans after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

The former Vols defensive lineman has totaled 94 tackles, one interception, and two sacks in 46 career NFL games.

Tuttle's most famous NFL play was his one-handed interception of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, which led to Tuttle delivering a devastating stiff arm to Ryan.

Tuttle played at Tennessee from 2015 to 2018. He battled injuries during his time with the Vols, but he's only missed three games during his three seasons in the NFL.
