Former Tennessee Vols running back Bryce Brown is getting into the coaching business.
According to a report from Football Scoop, Brown was hired this week by Tennessee Tech to serve as the program's running backs coach and "junior college and transfer liaison".
Brown originally signed with Tennessee in March 2009 when Lane Kiffin was serving as the Vols' head coach.
The former five-star recruit only played one season at Tennessee. In 2009, Brown rushed for 460 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown.
Brown transferred to Kansas State in 2010, just after the start of Tennessee's spring practice.
According to various reports, Brown told then-Vols head coach Derek Dooley that he was leaving the program via a text message.
Brown didn't find much collegiate success after transferring. He only carried the ball three times for 16 yards during his one season at Kansas State.
The former Vol was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Brown spent four years in the NFL with the Eagles, Buffalo Bills, and Seattle Seahawks.
Brown actually had an impressive two-game stretch as a rookie in 2012, rushing for 347 yards and four touchdowns in games against the Carolina Panthers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Unfortunately for Brown, that was the peak of his NFL career.
