The Tennessee Vols missed on one of their top recruiting targets on Thursday as five-star edge rusher Elijah Rushing committed to Arizona, but they made up for it on Friday afternoon.
Four-star offensive lineman William Satterwhite announced his commitment to Tennessee on Friday.
Satterwhite committed to the Vols over Clemson.
Satterwhite, 6-foot-3/300 lbs from Akron, OH, is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 7 player in the state of Ohio.
Landing Satterwhite is a nice "bounce back get" for the Vols after missing on three-star offensive lineman Ronan O'Connell earlier this week (O'Connell, who is from Franklin, TN, committed to Clemson).
Scouting report on Satterwhite via 247Sports: Dominant high school tackle who projects to a mauling interior O-line role in the long run. Broad-bodied with corresponding point-of-attack strength.Quick to engage. Plays with a wide base and good leverage. Cognizant of inside counters and secondary rush and combats with some pop in his hands.Generally keeps hands inside defenders' frames, but often wins with strength and motor. Disengaging from him is not easy. Will take targets to the ground when opportunity arises.Checks the multi-sport box with basketball participation. Bit of segmented mover at times and inconsistencies in footwork reflect that. Can improve balance and body control, particularly when engaged. Lack of ideal athletic context in regards to combine testing data. High-major offensive line prospect who we see as an excellent IOL projection, but could potentially provide some roster flexibility as well. Could become a multi-year P5 starter with an NFL Draft ceiling.
Tennessee now has 16 players committed to its 2024 recruiting class. Satterwhite is the Vols' fifth-highest rated 2024 commit so far.
