Tennessee Vols drop great video of Joe Milton giving pregame speech before Orange Bowl
Joe Milton is expected to replace Hendon Hooker as the Tennessee Vols’ starting quarterback in 2023
The Tennessee Vols are expected to roll with redshirt senior Joe Milton as their starting quarterback in 2023.
Five-star phenom Nico Iamaleava will be a true freshman at Tennessee this fall, but he's expected to serve as the primary backup to Milton this upcoming season.
Milton started the final two games of the 2022 season for the Vols, going 2-0 while throwing four touchdowns and no interceptions in wins against Vanderbilt and Clemson.
On Thursday morning, the Vols' official Twitter account signaled that Milton is the leader of this year's Tennessee team.
UT tweeted a video of Milton's pregame speech before the Vols' matchup against Clemson in the Orange Bowl. And it leaves no doubt that Milton is a tremendous leader.
"Give it all you got today," says Milton to his teammates in the video. "Don't look back. Tomorrow's not promised. Play on every play like it's your last play, man."
Despite serving as Hooker's backup for most of the last two seasons, Milton has maintained a role as a leader in Tennessee's locker room. And in 2023, he'll be the main leader for the Volunteers.
