The Tennessee Vols lost Jared Dickey to the 2023 MLB Draft earlier this month. When the selection was made, it was unknown whether or not Dickey would sign as an 11th-round pick. Today, that became a reality.

The Kansas City Royals signed Dickey for $572,500, the largest bonus for a pick after the tenth round this year.

For Tony Vitello and the Vols, Dickey isn't easy to replace. He was projected to slot into the middle of their lineup as a key bat for their offense. His production this past season was impressive for Tennessee. He hit .328 in 244 ABs. Dickey totaled 12 home runs and 52 RBI for the Vols. He made the 2023 All-SEC second team.
