Five-star quarterback Arch Manning is the most sought-after player in the 2023 recruiting class.

Manning's football pedigree (nephew of Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, grandson of Archie Manning, and son of Cooper Manning) and physical abilities have programs like Alabama and Georgia drooling.

The New Orleans native is currently in the process of taking visits before narrowing down his choices and eventually committing to a program later this summer.

Manning most recently took a visit to Texas. The Longhorns are surprisingly in the mix for Manning, thanks to the relationship between Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and the young quarterback.

Texas obviously wanted to make a big impression during Manning's visit.

So they broke out the big guns.

Well, at least they thought they did.

According to 247Sports, Texas brought former Longhorns quarterbacks Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger back to Austin for Manning's visit.

I mean, are McCoy and Ehlinger supposed to impress Arch?

This is a kid who grew up with two uncles in Peyton and Eli who won multiple Super Bowls. One uncle is already in the Hall of Fame. And the other one might be one day.

Manning has been rubbing shoulders with NFL greats since he was a baby. Bringing in McCoy and Ehlinger isn't going to impess Arch (I'd wager that Arch is already more famous than either of those two quarterbacks).

Texas may end up landing Manning (I think it'll be Georgia). But if they do, it will have zero to do with Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger.

Maybe next time the Longhorns should go with Kevin Durant or Matthew McConaughey. Those names might actually move the needle for Arch.
