The Tennessee Titans haven't had a loud offseason, but they've done a nice job of filling holes on a roster that was already in a good place.

Tennessee re-signed linebacker Harold Landry, added tight end Austin Hooper, traded for wide receiver Robert Woods (after releasing Julio Jones), and added a couple of key secondary players in Buster Skrine and AJ Moore (also a key special teams player).

The Titans' biggest need at this point of the offseason is at guard. Tennessee released Rodger Saffold earlier this offseason, leaving a hole on the offensive line.

On Wednesday, The Athletic's Sheil Kapadia made predictions for each NFL team's next free agent signing. And he has the Titans signing free-agent guard Trai Turner.

From The Athletic:

The Titans did a nice job acquiring Robert Woods, who should be fun to watch opposite A.J. Brown. But they need to protect Ryan Tannehill. The Titans could explore different offensive line options, and Turner is one of them. He signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Steelers last offseason and started all 17 games.

Turner, who turns 29 this summer, went to five straight Pro-Bowls from 2015 to 2019 with the Carolina Panthers.

The former LSU standout was traded to the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020. Turner battled a groin injury with the Chargers and missed seven games. He started all 17 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season while playing on a one-year deal worth $3 million.

Turner actually graded out slightly better last season than Saffold (per Pro Football Focus).

The Titans saved $10.4 million by releasing Saffold earlier this offseason. If the Titans can get Turner on a similar deal as he signed with the Steelers last season (or maybe even slightly more, a two-year deal worth $10 million perhaps), it would be a great value signing (PFF, for what it's worth, projected a three-year deal worth around $18 million earlier this offseason for Turner, but that price should have dropped as we enter the second wave of free agency).
