The Tennessee Titans are at a crossroads.

Mike Vrabel has said it, but now, the franchise needs to accept it as a whole. They didn't accomplish what they set out for this season.

There were tough obstacles in terms of injuries, but the results are what they are in the NFL. Their finish to the season was simply unacceptable.

The Titans will have to make some tough decisions this off-season. That being said, they need to avoid a trap that a couple of their division rivals have fallen into in the last few seasons.

The Titans must choose a direction as a franchise.

They are most likely going to have Ryan Tannehill as their quarterback next season. Mike Vrabel will be their head coach.

Tannehill has proven that he can help lead the team to a deep playoff run when healthy. He is a legitimate starter with Derrick Henry in the backfield, and he isn't going anywhere yet.

The Titans must keep Tannehill upright, though.

Not to mention, Todd Downing should not be the offensive coordinator in Tennessee going forward.

Regardless of injuries, the play-calling was unacceptable this season in the biggest moments for the Titans, and they need to go in a different direction there.

On the flip-side, the defense probably over performed many expectations. Their defensive line was one of the better units in the league, especially against the run.

More help in the secondary needs to come during this off-season in order to fill som holes on the depth chart. Bringing back David Long Jr. will help the middle of the defense as well.

On offense, the offensive line needs an overhaul. Their biggest decision will be whether or not Taylor Lewan is a Titan next year and beyond.

Aside from that, they need another starting level offensive tackle and help on the inside. They simply lack talent throughout the OL after missing on some draft picks and ignoring depth in free agency in prior years.

The Colts and Texans have flirted with the same issues as the Titans are looking at this off-season. Those two teams have sat on their hands and lack direction going forward.

Neither of those teams have stable staff situations currently. Neither of them have a franchise QB or good offensive line units.

The Titans cannot join that category, or the Jaguars will run the AFC South for the foreseeable future.
