The Tennessee Titans are the definition of overcoming obstacles once again this season.
Injuries ravaged their season, especially early in the season. Top talent like Taylor Lewan, Harold Landry III, and others suffered serious injuries.
They have been one of the most injured teams this season. Most folks realize that. There is another piece to that narrative that is overlooked, though.
The Titans haven't just been beat up.
Some of their highest-paid players are the ones that are missing the most time.
The Titans trail just three teams in "money on injured reserve" in simplest terms.
Two of those three ahead of them have been extremely disappointing this year. Those would be the Broncos and Rams.
Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, and Las Vegas Raiders trail the Titans by $15 million or less. All three of those squads are not having too much success this season. It's likely none of them will make the postseason.
The most injured teams in a season generally struggle. They don't achieve their goals, and they certainly don't contend at the top of a conference.
Meanwhile, the Titans are the only team in the top ten of this statistic who are leading their division.
The Titans lead the AFC south handily and could lock it up relatively soon. That's really impressive for Mike Vrabel's team.
The Titans are built on their grit, and their depth is showing that they can produce when their best talent goes down.
