At the end of May, the Tennessee Titans were listed as major underdogs to sign free agent wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Tennessee was +3000 on DraftKings Sportsbook, which was tied for the 13th best chances to win the sweepstakes.
In the weeks since, Hopkins has taken a visit to Nashville to meet with Titans executives, coaches, and players and +3000 is now looking like great value.
According to the latest DraftKings update, the Titans have now vaulted up to the third most likely landing spot for Hopkins.
Here's a look at the updated odds as of June 21st. Tennessee is now at +400, behind only the Buffalo Bills (+350) and New England Patriots (+100):
- New England Patriots +100
- Buffalo Bills +350
- Tennessee Titans +400
- Detroit Lions +500
- Cleveland Browns +1000
- Kansas City Chiefs +1400
- Houston Texans +1700
- Baltimore Ravens +2000
- Chicago Bears +2500
- Dallas Cowboys +2500
- New York Jets +3000
- Jacksonville Jaguars +3500
- Miami Dolphins +3500
- New Orleans Saints +3500
- Philadelphia Eagles +4000
- Denver Broncos +4000
New England coming in as the current favorite is no surprise. Hopkins also took a visit out to Foxborough to meet with the Patriots' brass earlier this month, and reports out of New England indicated that there was "optimism"within the organization.
According to the latest report from NFL insider Mike Giardi, "there is no rush" for Hopkins to sign. While Hopkins liked both visits, Giardi's source believes "there could be more out there in the coming weeks/start of training camp." It's possible that a mystery team is still out there somewhere or that a training camp injury could incentivize a team to make a move.
I'd keep an eye on the Cleveland Browns, who are currently listed at +1000 and could be looking to reunite Hopkins with Deshaun Watson.
The dark horse team Titans fans should be worried will sign WR DeAndre Hopkins
Another Hopkins landing spot to consider.
