The Tennessee Titans are ready for bounce back campaign on offense this year. With a new staff, along with a healthy Ryan Tannehill, it should look much different. Not to mention, they added a fella by the named of DeAndre Hopkins at wide receiver as well. No matter what – they have to avoid a massive downfall from last  year.

Going three-and-out was back-breaking for Tennessee a season ago. According to Warren Sharp, the Titans had the third-highest percentage of drives end in a three-and-out. Yes, you read that correctly. Four out of every ten offensive drives lasted just three plays with the actually offensive unit on the field. Unacceptable.

Predictability will be the biggest factor in this. Having Derrick Henry in your backfield is awesome. Having him run the ball on first down consistently when the defense is prepared for it? That is less awesome, undoubtedly.

Mixing in more consistent passing at the start of drives with a healthy Tannehill may open up the offense to an impressive extend. Tennessee would be smart to use tight end Chig Okonkwo on unique plays early in drives, too. We saw that often with Jonnu Smith at times in the past, and it was useful.

Not to mention, the wide receiver room looks much more defined with Hopkins in it. Allow Tannehill to take the top off the defense on first down occasionally. Give it a go and see what happens. Regardless, you cannot put your defense in tough spots like you did a season ago with so many three-and-out drives.
