The NFL trade deadline chaos has inadvertently helped the Tennessee Titans in a surprising way.
Hours before the deadline, the Denver Broncos agreed to send Pro Bowl pass rusher Bradley Chubb to the Miami Dolphins in a blockbuster trade that landed them a 2023 first round pick.
Chubb heading to Miami may make things a bit easier on the Titans upcoming slate of games against some of the top teams in the league. Tennessee is set to host Denver on November 13, right in the middle of a brutal stretch of games with Kansas City, Green Bay, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia.
The Broncos may have underachieved as a team thus far in 2022, but their defense can still pose a significant challenge to the Titans offense.
Denver’s defense is elite, currently sitting second in points allowed (16.5 per game), second in yards allowed (288.4 per game), and fourth in the NFL in sacks with 24 (5.5 of those belong to Chubb).
With the issues the Titans have had on the offensive line, avoiding a matchup with Bradley Chubb is a small, but not insignificant victory from deadline day.
