The Tennessee Titans signed WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine to a one-year contract on Thursday, adding some needed depth to the team's receiving corps.

Earlier this week, the Titans opted to not place a tender on Westbrook-Ikhine, who was a restricted free agent. Placing a tender on NWI would have given the Titans the right to match any offer sheet signed between March 15th and April 21st.

Instead, Westbrook-Ikhine returns to Nashville, where he has spent the first three seasons of his NFL career after being signed by Tennessee as an UDFA in 2020. No need for offer sheets or tenders.

Westbrook-Ikhine's return to the Titans makes sense for both sides. NWI gets to stay with a team and coaching staff he knows while likely getting some meaningful playing time in his age 26 season.

Tennessee retains some quality depth and a player that has been a mainstay in their receiver room over the last three season. Westbrook-Ikhine is smart, a willing blocker, and well-versed in the Titans' offense.

He is now, by a wide margin, the most experienced wide receiver on the roster.

Westbrook-Ikhine is not a long-term solution to the Titans' need for wide receivers, but he can at least provide some stability in 2023 and give Tennessee one less roster spot to worry about. More reinforcements should be on the way, and I'm a big fan of bringing him back.
