It appears that Tennessee Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse has been snubbed out of another spot in the 2023 Pro Bowl. Stonehouse was named an alternate at the end of the season to Kansas City Chiefs punter Tommy Townsend, and with Kansas City advancing to the Super bowl, Tonwsend's place on the AFC Pro Bowl roster was left vacant.

That spot is now being awarded to A.J. Cole of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Stonehouse could not be more deserving of being honored as a Pro Bowler after his record-breaking rookie season in Tennessee, and quite frankly, it's hard to understand how two AFC punters received the honors before him.

The undrafted free agent from Colorado State beat out veteran Brett Kern for the Titans' punting job in training camp, and made good on the team's decision when he broke an 82-year-old record held by the legendary Sammy Baugh. Stonehouse averaged 53.1 yards per punt this season, breaking Baugh's previous mark of 51.4, and making him the record holder for the highest single-season punting average in NFL history.

Given the record-breaking year, Stonehouse unquestionably deserves a spot on the roster.

Stonehouse is still off to a wonderful start to his career, including being named to the 2022 PFWA All-Rookie Team, but it would have been nice for the Titans' rookie to get some national recognition.
