Recent NFL draft buzz might spell trouble for the Titans

The latest buzz around the 2023 NFL Draft might end up hurting the Tennessee Titans.
Paris Johnson Jr., the top offensive line prospect in this year's draft class, put on a show for scouts and executives this past week during Ohio State's Pro Day.
A number of NFL teams, including Tennessee, were well represented in Columbus to get their eyes on Johnson, quarterback CJ Stroud, WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and even class of 2024 wide reciever Marvin Harrison Jr., among others.
The player pool out of Ohio State is never short on premier NFL talent. Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Justin Fields, Chase Young, and Jeff Okudah have all be first-round picks out of OSU in the last three years.
2023 is no different. PFF currently has five former Buckeyes ranked in their top 50 prospects. All of that talent on the same field for coaches, scouts, and executives and it was still Paris Johnson Jr. that stole the show, according to Albert Breer.
The Titans have been linked to Johnson for most of the offseason. Tennessee has a clear need on the offensive line, and landing the top tackle in the draft without picking in the top ten feels like a dream scenario for Titans fans.
All of the drama surrounding the number one overall pick, four quarterbacks possibly going at the top of the draft, and some highly regarded defensive talent might be the perfect storm to allow Johnson to slip back to Tennessee at 11.
But that scenario is not as likely to happen with the new draft order and Johnson's draft stock on the rise.
Chicago moving back to number nine in their trade with the Carolina Panthers makes them a threat to take the first tackle off the board. If the Bears liked what they saw from Johnson at his Pro Day, they could easily take him at nine and get the offensive line help that they desperately need.
Las Vegas and Atlanta could also be dark horse landing spots for Johnson.
The Titans need as many options as possible when they go on the clock in April. Trading back is an option. Wide receiver is an option. Offensive line is certainly an option, but if Johnson is off the board, the remaining offensive linemen with first round grades come with bigger question marks and concerns.
Johnson is the day one starter that Tennessee needs. Unfortunately, other teams are beginning to take notice because of his dazzling performance in pre-draft workouts.
