The latest NFL trade may be exactly what the Tennessee Titans needed to fill it's massive roster hole at wide receiver.

Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been traded to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a 2023 fifth-round pick and a 2024 sixth-round pick.

For a 29-year-old receiver with six career 1,000 yard seasons under his belt, that's some really good value for Dallas. It also may have just set the market for what other wide receivers could net in draft capital. Namely DeAndre Hopkins, who the Arizona Cardinals are looking to deal this offseason.

Hopkins, 30, is similar in both age and contract status to Cooks. Over the next two seasons, Cooks is due $32 million, while Hopkins is due slightly more than $34 million over the same period.

As pointed out by Field Yates, the return to Houston for Cooks will likely be used in negotiations, and could be a baseline for what the Cardinals are asking in return.

While both have had successful careers, Hopkins is still a better wide receiver than Cooks at the moment. After serving his suspension to begin the 2022 season, Hopkins had 64 catches for 717 receiving yards in just nine games.

That's on pace for 120 catches and 1,354 yards over a full 17 game season. Additionally, only four of Hopkins' nine game were played with starting quarterback Kyler Murray under center.

Hopkins still has a lot of really good football left in him, and even if his price is a little bit more expensive than it was for Cooks, it's a price well worth paying for team like the Titans that desperately needs a wide receiver.

If Cooks was good for a 2023 5th and a 2024 6th, maybe Hopkins can be had for a 2023 3rd and a 2024 5th.

Ran Carthon and Mike Vrabel should absolutely make a call to former Titans executive Monti Ossenfort and start working on a deal. The market is in Tennessee's favor and Hopkins paired with Treylon Burks would immediately open things up for the Titans offense.
