2023 has been an important year of growth and development for Tennessee Titans defensive lineman Jayden Peevy.

After signing with Tennessee as an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M following the 2022 NFL Draft, Peevy spent the majority of the 2022 season on the Titans' practice squad. Peevy played in one game last season after being activated for Tennessee's Week 17 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys and playing 27 defensive snaps.

But the Jayden Peevy that has been on the field during Titans training camp this fall is – both physically and mentally – much improved from where he was a year ago. Peevy said after practice on Monday that he has been losing weight and gaining confidence.

"Losing a lot of weight man," Peevy said when asked what the biggest challenge was for him this offseason. "Last year I came in at 325. I showed back up at 308. I just worked my butt off to be in the position that I'm in today."

Thanks to a lot of biking this offseason, Peevy is in better shape than ever and way more versatile. Playing at a lighter weight allows Peevy to play every position on the defensive line, and his coaches are taking notice of his progress.

Peevy was named one of the team's offseason award winners by head coach Mike Vrabel. He shared the defensive honors with Arden Key and fellow second-year undrafted defender Jack Gibbens.

"It's a blessing and it's a big confidence boost for myself just coming in undrafted and hearing that," Peevy told me on Monday. The 23-year-old defensive lineman is not alone in his undrafted label, however. Tear Tart and Denico Autry are just two examples of undrafted defensive linemen in the Titans defense that have established themselves as difference makers in the NFL.

Peevy now hopes to follow in those footsteps, and he's been making some noise early on in training camp. I've got Peevy's name circled as someone on the roster to watch this fall.
