The Tennessee Titans and wide receiver AJ Brown are in the midst of contract extension negotiations.

Brown didn't participate in Tennessee's voluntary offseason workouts last week, as he seeks a new deal. He instead opted to throw with Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

(Brown and Hurts have been close friends for years, so it's not unusual for them to work out together.)

The photo of Brown throwing with Hurts comes just days after a video was posted of the Titans wide receiver talking on the phone to San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel about contract negotiations with Tennessee.

Brown told Samuel that the Titans said they know he can get more than $20 million a year on a new contract, but they don't plan on giving him that kind of deal.

When you combine the skipped workouts, throwing with Hurts, and the video with Samuel, it feels like the Titans' negotiations with Brown aren't going anywhere.

But things aren't always as they appear.

According to a report on Wednesday from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Brown is still expected to be re-signed by the Titans. Fowler reported that Brown has been "in touch with coaches" in Tennessee and "everyone is in a good place".

There's a lot of noise surrounding Brown right now and what the outcome of these negotiations will be. But everything we've heard internally and externally indicates that the Titans are fully committed to keeping Brown in Nashville for the long haul.

Negotiations could always go south. But there's no reason at this point to think that will be the case with Brown and the Titans.
