UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor isn't taking any solace in the Tennessee Vols' loss to the Florida Gators this past weekend ahead of his team's trip to Neyland Stadium on Saturday.
In fact, Traylor is anticipating an "angry" and "upset" Tennessee team on Saturday because of that loss.
"What Coach (Josh) Heupel has done there has been really remarkable," said Traylor on Tuesday. "Tennessee's always had every single thing you need to win. They're doing that now."
"We know we're going to play a very angry and upset team that lost their conference opener on the road to a really good Florida team," added Traylor. "We know we're going to get their best."
Traylor, who noted that he knows Heupel well from his days as a high school coach in Texas (when Heupel was at Oklahoma), was also asked about what it'll be like to coach/play in a rowdy Neyland Stadium.
"Coach Heupel used to recruit my school when he was at Oklahoma," said Traylor. "He signed a lot of our kids from Gilmer (High School in Texas). So I know Josh really well."
"[We've] talked to people that have played there (at Neyland) and there's no other place like it, that's what we've been told as far as the noise," added Traylor. "It'll be exciting for our kids to experience that."
"You gotta practice it the best you can," continued Traylor. "It's tough. Similar I would imagine to what we've experienced. But I've heard everything we've experienced, it's even more. We'll find out on Saturday [at] about 4:00 eastern"
UTSA is coming off a loss to Army while the Vols are coming off that tough loss to the Gators.
Both teams will be eager to get the taste of a loss out their mouth. But only one team will leave the field smiling on Saturday night in Knoxville.
